Getting a medical certificate for a single day should not be harder than the illness itself. For a $19 request fee, you can complete your details and a short screening questionnaire online, with no appointment to select. Single-day certificates are emailed following clinician review, where clinically appropriate. You may be contacted if further information or a consultation is required.
Single-day requests are for your own illness, today’s date only, for work or study. Your clinician reviews your request and, if deemed medically appropriate, emails the certificate to you, ready to forward to your employer, university or institution. It is a legally valid document issued by an AHPRA-registered clinician and widely accepted by employers. Depending on your circumstances, your clinician may instead offer advice, recommend a GP review or a consultation, or advise that no certificate is warranted.
If you need a certificate for another date, for multiple days, or for someone you care for, book a consultation instead. Multi-day medical certificates are $49, including the consultation, and are issued following a clinical assessment.
All clinical decisions, including whether a certificate is issued, are made by the reviewing clinician based on the information you provide and your personal health profile.
Please note: A medical certificate is only issued following a genuine clinical assessment. Certificates cannot be backdated. The decision to issue a certificate is at the clinician’s sole discretion and is not guaranteed as an outcome of submitting a request or paying the request fee.
